DESPITE claims newly-married couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were on the rocks, the pair couldn't have looked more loved-up in Italy tonight.

The Hollywood stars put on a very tactile display as they walked the red carpet at the premiere of the actor's new flick, Black Mass, as part of the 72nd Venice Film Festival.

Actress Amber, 29, could barely takes her eyes off her man before being pictured whispering into his ear, as she supported him at the event.

The Magic Mike beauty turned heads for all the right reasons as she sauntered passed photographers in an elegant, black floor-sweeper.

The classic gown featured a daringly low-cut neckline and mini train, while Amber's blonde tresses were worn down in a very voluminous 'do.

Johnny, 52, meanwhile cut a dapper figure in a navy tuxedo and bow-tie, as he promoted his latest blockbuster.

The heartthrob posed alongside co-stars Dakota Johnson and Joel Edgerton, as well as director Scott Cooper outside the venue.

Dakota stars as Lindsey Cyr in the biographical story about Whitey Bulger, the brother of a state senator and one of the most infamously violent criminals in the history of South Boston.

Jonny looks unrecognisable as Bulger - who becomes an FBI informant in the hopes of taking down a mafia family - in the drama.

Black Mass is set to hit cinemas on September 18.
