Johnny Depp’s children are not impressed by their Hollywood star dad

The Transcendence star, 50, says while he considers himself a “pretty laid-back dad” he is often pulled up by the elder of his two children with ex-girlfriend of 14 years, singer Vanessa Paradis.

“She’s a sharp kid, very sophisticated, super intelligent and... scary,” he says. “So she could be the sweetest thing in the world, which most of the time she is, and suddenly I’m in trouble for something,” he tells US TV host Ellen DeGeneres.

Depp also lamented that Lily-Rose and son Jack, 12, were “beyond smarter than their old man”.

Meanwhile, in a bizarre twist it was reported last week that Depp has been allegedly subpoenaed to testify in court in support of fan Nancy Lekon, who is charged with a hit-and-run murder in 2009. She told police she was travelling in a limousine to meet her “boyfriend” Depp.

Lekon’s lawyer is seeking to get the actor to disavow his client’s claims in an attempt to prove that she is insane.
